Description
Random-on-Random tests (RoR tests) consist of a basic random oscillation with a broad frequency band. This is superimposed by one or more random profiles with a narrow and fixed or sweeping frequency band (narrowband random vibration). The parameters of the different random profiles, such as the spectral power density (PSD), can be freely selected independently of each other.
Application using the example of aerospace technology
In addition to the broadband background noise of flight operating, aircraft components experience additional narrowband noise excitation, particularly during take-off and landing. In RoR testing, this additional vibration excitation is represented by one or more narrowband random profiles.
