The management of VIBTEC GmbH decided in 2015 to build another large hall to expand the test laboratory and office space in order to meet the exponentially increasing needs of measurement capabilities in the field of environmental simulation, vibration and shock testing and the growing demand for customized designs for testing.
Laying the foundations. The foundations for the shaker rooms were even laid separately to prevent vibrations from being transmitted to other parts of the building.
Construction began in 2016, which was completed at the end of 2017 and put into operation in 2018.
The hall is 55 meters long, 16 meters wide and nine meters high. As a result, the space capacity was increased by 880 square meters and the possible uses were also significantly expanded. The hall contains several large shaker rooms, each equipped with its own movable load crane. These have a lifting capacity of two tons. Testing large and heavy test specimens is therefore easier and the additional space also provides room for control and monitoring units, which are required in many tests. The shaker rooms even have separate foundations so that no vibrations are transmitted to other parts of the building.

A movable crane with a lifting capacity of 10 tons was also installed in the hall, enabling shakers to be lifted and moved.
For the employees, social rooms, such as a large kitchen, were set up. Additional office space and a workshop were also realized so that small mechanical modifications could be made to testing equipment.
A measuring room was also set up, which is used for the many electrical functional tests, especially for e-mobility.
In1995, when VIBTEC GmbH was established, the founders had the vision to develop their new company into a highly competent and specialized service provider in the field of environmental simulation. Now, in 2023, VIBTEC operates spacious facilities for large test specimens, more than a dozen shakers and numerous temperature and climate chambers used for testing materials, components, etc. In addition, over the decades VIBTEC has gained more and more expertise in designing and manufacturing test fixtures that ensure practical vibration testing. Many innovations have also been implemented in the past, resulting in more realistic environmental simulations. And VIBTEC will continue to work on innovations. In the near future, for example, shakers in dual mode operation will make it possible to test even larger and heavier objects. Based on the data generated from these new kind of testing the customer has the prerequisites that lead to a high level of product knowledge and to reliable products.
